  1. That Sofa King one was part of an SNL skit. I wonder which one came first. The LYNX ad is my favorite. Very clever.

    The 3M one is my favorite, especially if the money is real — got a hammer, anyone?

    @Matt Keegan:

    The 3M one is real. I’ve read about it somewhere on the web. I don’t think anyone has tried to bust into it, but I’m sure it would be possible if you tried. I’m sure a 60mph impact with a 2001 Dodge Ram would do the trick. ;)

    Cool stuff. I loved the 3M ad. ;) The Sofa King one was funny too. :mrgreen:

    I think the only one missing is the image of the bus stop with the 3 light sabres “In case of Sith”.
    The logo on the marshmallows one looks familiar, any idea what it’s for?

  13. Valerie says:

    I would say that the marshmallow one is Citibank. It looks like their logo, and they definitely talk about money a lot.

    And I agree. Marshmallows are kinda the same thing as happiness..

  14. MrDifficult says:

    The Sofa King bit is a schoolyard joke older than SNL itself. You may remember it as “I am sofa king wee todd ed.” You didn’t think SNL originated something, did you? Thanks for the link to a page about poor writing.

    @ unTECHy

    The 3M money-filled glass box, if I remember correctly, was placed outside a bank, and members of the public were allowed to attempt breaking into it. If you got in, the money was yours. I’m not sure if they had some sort of car-deterrent (like a bollard), or if people just didn’t want to ram their car into it. See if you can find anything on Google, I remember reading the whole article a while back.
